Privacy Policy — Voxis Pit
In short
This policy covers Voxis Pit for Meta Quest, the only version distributed.
Voxis Pit collects nothing, sends nothing, and connects to nothing. The game runs entirely offline. No data leaves your headset, because the game contains no technical means of sending any.
What the game stores, and where
A single file, on your headset: the high-score table. For each score kept (ten per difficulty) it holds:
- the name you typed yourself on the high-score screen;
- the score, the difficulty, the starting level, and the date of the game.
The file is written to the application's private directory on the headset: it is invisible to other applications, and it goes away with the game when you uninstall it.
The name is a free text field: it is not verified, not linked to any account, and never transmitted. If you would rather not use your real name, use anything else — nothing in the game depends on what you write there.
The game has no persistent settings, so there is no other file.
What the game does not do
- No network access. No connections, no name resolution, no downloads, no uploads. The program contains no networking library at all.
- No analytics, no telemetry, no automatic crash reporting.
- No advertising, no trackers, no advertising identifier.
- No third-party data-collection SDK.
- No account, no sign-up, no profile.
- No access to contacts, location, microphone, personal files or address book, and no camera images: the application requests none of these permissions.
What the headset gives the game, and what is never recorded
A virtual reality application receives from the headset what it needs to draw the picture, and that is all the data passing through it. Three capabilities are declared:
- head tracking: the position and orientation of the headset, without which there is no three-dimensional rendering;
- hand tracking: the twenty-six joints of each hand, which the game turns into cubes to show you your fingers in front of the menu pages. The feature is declared optional — without it the game is played with the controllers and nothing is missing;
- mixed reality: your room appears behind the pit. The game receives no camera image. It asks the headset for a passthrough layer, and the headset composes the view; the program never has access to what the cameras see.
None of this is written down or transmitted: these measurements serve the frame being drawn and are forgotten with the next one. The only file the game writes is still the high-score table described above.
Children
The game collects no data from anyone, of any age. There is therefore nothing specific to minors, and no parental consent to obtain.
Keeping and deleting
The high-score table stays on your headset for as long as the game is installed.
To erase it, uninstall the application: the headset removes its private directory along with it, and the high-score table goes the same way. There is no other copy, anywhere.
Since no data is ever transmitted, there is nothing to request from the publisher: no copy of your scores exists anywhere but on your headset. The GDPR rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability apply to data we do not hold — you exercise them directly, by uninstalling the game.
Purchase and distribution
If you obtain the game through a store (the Meta Horizon Store), that store handles the purchase, the account and the download under its privacy policy, over which the publisher has no control. Voxis Pit receives no personal data from the store and sends none to it.
Changes
Any change to this policy will be dated at the top of this document. Should a future version of the game add an online feature — a shared leaderboard, for instance — this policy would be updated before that version ships, and the feature would be clearly announced.
